Our Story

THC LAB grew out of twelve years of brokerage experience in the Canadian cannabis market — from the earliest days of medical licensing through the rollout of the Cannabis Act and the evolution of provincial frameworks across Ontario, BC, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. We have watched the industry stand up, sort itself out, and mature into the disciplined commercial market it is today.

We are a founder-led brokerage. Every transaction we coordinate is handled personally, end-to-end, by a principal of the firm. We do not run high-velocity, low-touch volume operations. We do not chase the lowest-cost flower in the country. We build long-term, repeat-business relationships with quality producers and serious retailers who care about consistency and compliance.

How We Work

Our role sits between Health Canada licensed producers and the Canadian licensed retailers, distributors, and federally authorized purchasers who carry their product. We aggregate demand, secure allocation, verify compliance, coordinate logistics, and own the paperwork.

We do not retail to consumers. We do not cultivate or process cannabis. We are not in the chain of custody beyond what compliance requires. We are a brokerage in the original, conservative sense of the word: a trusted intermediary whose value lies in deep relationships, accurate information, and operational discipline.

Compliance First, Always

Every product we list is sourced from a current Health Canada licensed producer in good standing. Every transaction we broker is documented with a complete compliance package — producer licence verification, manifest, verified excise stamps, current COAs, signed proof of delivery — and archived for the statutory retention period.

We turn down product that does not meet our QC review. We turn down accounts whose licensing we cannot verify. The deals we walk away from are part of what keeps our remaining business clean.

Our typical accounts are independent and regional retailers, distributors, and federally authorized purchasers operating across Canada. We work especially well with retailers who:

Licenses & Authorizations

THC LAB operates as a licensed brokerage under the Cannabis Act and applicable provincial frameworks. We do not require — and do not hold — a Health Canada cultivation or processing licence, because we do not cultivate or process cannabis. Our role is intermediary. Every party we connect must hold the licensing appropriate to their activity, and we verify that licensing before any commercial discussion.
